SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

Spiritual direction is the help given by one Christian (director) to another (seeker) which enables the seeker to be attentive to the Lord’s personal communication to him or her. The seeker is then able to listen and respond to God, grow in intimacy with Him, and carry out the consequences of the relationship. By engaging in spiritual direction, one makes a promise to God, to oneself, and to your trusted spiritual director to actively work on strengthening your faith.

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION SUPERVISION

Supervision is a key component in the ministry of spiritual direction. In supervision, a spiritual director is invited to contemplatively reflect on spiritual direction sessions and one’s ongoing practice of serving and being present to a seeker. Skilled and compassionate supervision assists spiritual directors in deepening their self-awareness, cultivating greater interior freedom, and refining the unique gifts and capacities they bring to their ministry. To connect with a supervisor, contact Fr. Mark Zacker, mzacker@stfranciscr.org
