In 2022, the Diocese of Colorado Springs partnered with the Meitler Group to create Illuminating Our Path, a strategic growth plan for Catholic schools. This plan, developed with input from diocesan, parish, and school leaders, focuses on four pillars: Catholic mission and identity, governance and leadership, academic excellence, and operational vitality. It aims to foster academic achievement, spiritual growth, and long-term vitality for Catholic education in the community.
Key components of the plan include mission and ministry, faith formation, community, excellence, and vitality. Faith formation and a strong sense of community are central, ensuring students grow academically and spiritually. The plan emphasizes academic excellence, character development, and service, while promoting operational efficiency and sustainable resources.
To implement this vision, we’ve partnered with Avanti Advisors to restructure governance at four key diocesan schools: Corpus Christi Catholic Academy, Saint Gabriel Classical Academy, Saint Paul Catholic School, and Saint Peter Catholic School. These schools will now be led by Bishop Golka, Superintendent Sheila Whalen, and a new Board of Directors, ensuring centralized oversight and alignment with the Diocese’s educational mission.
Other schools, including Ave Maria Catholic School and several preschools, will continue as individual parish schools. This new governance model strengthens collaboration, ensuring long-term growth and success for our Catholic schools, benefiting students, families, and communities.
