ABOUT CALLED BY NAME

“Called by Name” is a program of vocation awareness. This program offers us an opportunity to pray for vocations; to recognize gifts and potential for leadership and service in members of our parish; and finally, to call forth and encourage these members to share their gifts in priesthood or consecrated life. Many young people say that the final nudge to contact the vocation director was simply being asked, by their pastor, parent, grandparent, or any Catholic adult, if they had considered the priesthood, consecrated life, and diaconate. Perhaps you know a single man or woman (18 years or older) who would, in your opinion, have qualities to become a priest, sister, brother, deacon, or consecrated virgin. Please recommend this person by filling out the response card at your parish or the form below. Those you nominate will receive a letter from Bishop James Golka, congratulating them on living the Christian Life in an exemplary way and gently inviting them to begin formally discerning their calling, as well as helpful information and resources. There are no requirements or commitments on their part – only a loving invitation from the Lord.
