2024 Rosary Rally and Mass with Bishop James Golka

The annual diocesan Rosary Rally will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at St. Peter Parish, 155 Jefferson St., Monument, 80132.
The theme of this year’s rally will be “Mother Mary and the Eucharistic Revival.” Father Nathan Cromly will be the keynote speaker. Bishop Golka will celebrate Mass after the recitation of the Rosary. The rally is sponsored by the Diocese of Colorado Springs and the St. Thomas Aquinas Society.

A meditation will appear in each issue of The Colorado Catholic Herald prior to the rally. Below is the final meditation:

The Resurrection is Real: Jesus is Alive in the Eucharist

It is recorded in Scripture that the mother of God did not accompany the other holy women to the tomb to anoint the body of Jesus. Why did she not go? Pope St. John Paul II refl ected that, after Jesus had been laid in the tomb, “Mary alone remains to keep alive the flame of faith, preparing to receive the joyful and astonishing announcement of the Resurrection”
(general audience, May 21, 1997). He describes the expectation she must have felt on Holy Saturday as “one of the loftiest moments of faith for the Mother of the Lord.” Our Lady believed the words of her son. Further, she also believed Jesus’ words of institution at the Last Supper: “Take, eat; this is my body” and “Drink of it, all of you; for this is my blood” (Mt. 26:26–28). The Last Supper accounts in all four of the Gospel narratives are consistent and unequivocal – “This is my body.” “This is My Blood.” (Jn 6:47-58, Lk 22:19-20, Mk 14:22-24.) The risen Jesus is truly and fully present in the Eucharist! To help us believe, there have been many documented Eucharistic miracles throughout the centuries. And since the real presence of the risen
Christ is the undeniable truth, Jesus offers salvation to each of us who are in the state of grace. “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life.” (John 6:53-54) If you have any shadow of a doubt, pray to Mary, your mother — she will obtain for you this incredible grace of faith in her son and in the Blessed Sacrament! Mary believed her son. Will you?
