Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament is present, though hidden, in every tabernacle in every Catholic church. Within the Diocese of Colorado Springs, the visible Eucharistic Presence of Jesus in a monstrance is available in many locations, days and times for adoration and prayer. What follows is an overview of opportunities for this increasingly popular and highly recommended devotion. Availability differs from parish to parish, ranging from perpetual (24/7) to one or two hours per week or month.

Perpetual manned Eucharistic Adoration Chapels
(Chapels that have at least one person committed to remain with the Blessed Sacrament each hour of the day)

St. Dominic Parish, Security
St. Dominic’s chapel is located in the church bell tower and is accessible via a coded door. Occupancy is limited to seven people at a time. Perpetual adoration at St. Dominic actually began before the church was built. Holy Family Parish, which was merged with St. Joseph Parish in Fountain to become St. Dominic, began perpetual adoration about 18 years ago. Kim Cole, adoration coordinator for St. Dominic, said that more committed adorers are needed on Saturdays, but additional adorers are welcome at every hour. Sign up for an hour or to be a substitute at stdominic.weadorehim.com/ or contact Kim at 719-246-1830.

Holy Apostles Parish, Colorado Springs (central/east side)
The chapel at Holy Apostles Church opened in February 2017 and accommodates about 30 people. The chapel is located on the upper north side of the church building and is accessible through the coded door, between Mary’s House and the church. Currently all hours have at least one guardian, but additional adorers are welcome! Sign up at adorationpro.org/apostles or contact Linda Oppelt, 719-338-4348; linda.oppelt@gmail.com.

Eucharistic Adoration Chapels accessible around the clock
(Chapels that are accessible any time day or night but do not currently have committed adorers for every hour.)

Our Lady of the Pines Parish, Black Forest
This chapel is situated in back of the church, behind the tabernacle of the main sanctuary. The tabernacle was constructed with a door that can be opened in the back to expose the Blessed Sacrament when a person enters the chapel, and closed upon departure. The coded door to the chapel is accessible on the southwest side of the church. About ten people can be seated in the chapel. To obtain the code call the front office at 719-495-2351, or sign up at adorationpro.org/ourladyofthepines

St. Peter Parish in Monument
Peter the Rock Chapel, located across the parking lot from the church in the parish ministry center, can accommodate 35-40 people. It is accessible most hours, with possible exceptions of weddings and other special events. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed in a monstrance that is covered with a semi-transparent veil, so nothing is required upon exiting. Visitors and drop-ins are welcome but need the code to enter. To obtain the code, contact Tara Stone, tjstone0828@gmail.com or 719-650-4485, or call the parish at 719-481-3511. To sign up for an hour, or to become a substitute, visit adorationpro.org/peterco. More committed adorers are needed overnight and weekend hours.
