COLORADO SPRINGS. In 1885, when nine girls enrolled in the school that is today St. Mary’s High School, the Sisters of Loretto were not thinking about an endowment to support students 137 years in the future, they were simply trying to find land for the school they just opened.

Jesus used parables to illustrate important spiritual truths to listeners hungering to know about the Kingdom of God. Parables also serve to protect timeless truths from skeptics and nay-sayers. We are delighted to review an extended parable written by John Pearring, who is not a stranger to our diocese.

"And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” (Acts 2:42) My dear brothers and sisters in Christ:

“Se reunían frecuentemente para escuchar la enseñanza de los apóstoles, y participar en la vida común, en la fracción del pan y en las oraciones.” (Hechos 2:42.)

Starting with September 2022, the calendar lists an active priest, retired priest, seminarian, or another general intention to pray for each day, as well as any clergy anniversaries occurring that day. The calendar concludes in August 2023.
