THE CATHOLIC REVIEW: The Bible and Reconciliation

Once in a while we encounter a book whose insight and teaching clarity demand a larger audience. Such is “The Bible and Reconciliation,” by Dr. James Prothro, a professor at the Augustine Institute Graduate School of Theology. In this new book, I have come to see the kindness of God’s mercy, forgiveness, and understanding radiate through Prothro’s words and writings, as well the need for reconciliation in our hearts, our souls, our churches, and our culture.

Finally on the gardener’s calendar comes March. New plants are breaking through the soil and days are warming up. After all, it is the season of resurrection! Christians around the world are celebrating Holy Week and are preparing for Easter. It is truly a blessed time of year. 

Sacred Heart of Jesus statue restored following vandalism

COLORADO SPRINGS.  Last May, the Sacred Heart Parish community was devastated when its statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which proudly stood above the parish center for 68 years, was destroyed. A mentally ill person pushed it off the “eyebrow” above the parish center doors and it broke into multiple pieces. The community feared that the statue was gone forever.

    General Robert Titus dies Sept. 8 at age 97

    COLORADO SPRINGS. General Robert Titus, a highly decorated veteran of three wars, died Sept. 8 at age 91. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 23 at Corpus Christi Parish, followed by burial in the U.S. Air Force Academy Cemetery.
