COLORADO SPRINGS. Bishop James Golka announced that Father Joe Dygert, who has taught theology at St. Mary’s High School since 2015, will complete his service to the school at the end of the 2023-24 academic year.
Father Dygert will remain a priest in residence at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Colorado Springs in anticipation of him receiving a new diocesan assignment in May 2024, Bishop Golka said.
“We will continue working with the leadership of St. Mary’s to determine how the diocese can best support the school going forward,” said Bishop Golka.
“St. Mary's has been blessed to have Father Joe Dygert as a member of our faculty for the last 8 ½ years,” said Robyn Cross, Principal of St. Mary’s High School. “Leading our theology department, Father Joe has provided St. Mary's students with a rich understanding and appreciation for our Catholic faith. Adding a new curriculum and the Kairos retreat during his tenure, Father Joe has enriched all of our lives. He will be missed.”
