Holy Rosary Chapel in Cascade now available for daytime events
CASCADE. The Holy Rosary Chapel in Cascade has recently updated its facilities and grounds. Groups within the diocese are welcome to sign up for a group retreat, prayer group or other type of day use. The chapel is located at 4435 Holiday Trail, just 10 miles from downtown Colorado Springs along Highway 24. The ADA-accessible facility has seating for 80 within the lovely stone chapel. Amenities include a pipe organ, keyboard, sound system and beautiful acoustics.
The adjoining community room has folding tables and chairs for 15-20 people. Amenities include a large flat-screen TV, WiFi, DVD player, full kitchen, two bathrooms, and closed circuit viewing of the chapel. There is also a smaller room downstairs.
The chapel sits on 2½ acres of wooded land, with ample parking in two lots. There are restaurants within walking distance and hiking trails nearby. The newly constructed Rosary Walk on the chapel grounds is perfect for a Day of Reflection. A small grotto inside the chapel offers an additional space for prayerful meditation.
Despite its size, the chapel displays many treasured artistic expressions. The 14th-century-style stained glass windows, made in Germany, show the mysteries of the rosary and a large mosaic depicts St. Dominic receiving the Holy Rosary from the Blessed Mother. The detailed sculpture of the Last Supper on the original altar is carved from pure white Carrera Italian marble. The large rosewood crucifix and carved wood statuettes of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph with the Christ Child are from Oberammergau, Germany. Vibrantly colored inlaid mosaics of the 14 Stations of the Cross were designed by Franz Mayer of Munich, Germany.
There is no set fee for day use; good will donations are gratefully accepted. For more information or to make a reservation, visit https://www.sacredheartcos.org/holy-rosary-reservation-request.html.
