John Eaton, longtime Knight and Corpus Christi parishioner, dies at age 79

FAIRVIEW, TEXAS. John Eaton, who was previously a member of Corpus Christi Parish and Knights of Columbus Council No. 7520, died July 24 at age 79 in Fairview, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 28 at St. Jude Church in Allen, Texas. Internment followed at Calvary Mausoleum and Cemetery in Los Angeles.

Eaton was born Dec. 22, 1943 in Los Angeles. He attended Mount Carmel High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University in Los Angeles in 1965. He married his wife Maureen on Nov. 9, 1968.

He served as a U.S. Air Force pilot in the Vietnam War and eventually retired from the Air Force after 20 years as a lieutenant colonel. He then worked as a pilot for 16 years for American Airlines.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Maureen Eaton of Fairview, Texas; son, Scott Eaton and wife, Jude of Leander, Texas; daughter, Lisa Eaton and husband, Agustin of Santa Monica, California; son, Mike Eaton and wife, Charlotte of Fairview, Texas; son, John Paul Eaton and wife, Sharon of Cedar Park, Texas; daughter, Meghan Skelton and husband, Chris of McKinney, Texas; and daughter, Patricia Hammerland and husband, Sean of McKinney, Texas; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and a host of other loving family and friends.
