Local St. Vincent de Paul society receives grant for rent and utility assistance

COLORADO SPRINGS. The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Holy Apostles Parish received a grant of $4,000 to provide rental and utilities assistance to people in need.

The grant was awarded by the Mountain View Round Up Fund, a community outreach of Mountain View Electric Association (MVEA).

Deborah Washington, President of the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Holy Apostles, received the funds on behalf of the group at a check presentation May 16 at MVEA offices in Falcon.

The  St. Vincent de Paul Society is a Catholic lay organization that leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering in the tradition of its patron, St. Vincent de Paul.
