Monthly Divine Mercy Masses to resume in January

COLORADO SPRINGS. Beginning in 2025, St. Dominic Parish in Security and St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Colorado Springs will host Divine Mercy (DM) Masses on the first Friday of each month, with Masses alternating between the two locations. Both parishes have become Divine Mercy centers for the Diocese of Colorado Springs, committed to promoting devotion and education about God’s Message of Mercy in cooperation with Divine Mercy of the Rockies (DMR).

First Fridays were selected for these special diocese-wide Masses to recognize the close connection between the Divine Mercy and Sacred Heart revelations given by Jesus to remind the whole world of his infinite merciful love.

Starting Jan. 3, in odd months Divine Mercy Masses will take place on First Fridays at 8:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Parish. During even months, Masses will be held on First Fridays at 8 a.m. at St. Dominic Parish. Relics of St. Faustina Kowalska, St. Pope John Paul II, and Blessed Father Michael Sopocko; the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and the blessing of Divine Mercy images for home enthronement will be included in each monthly celebration.

Parishes are also invited to dedicate a daily Mass during the year as a Divine Mercy Mass and to arrange for the relics and other informational materials to be present at their Masses by contacting Divine Mercy of the Rockies (DMR) at: divinemercy@diocs.org.
