Nearly 40 adults certified as ‘Agents for the New Evangelization’

By Javier Cervantes

COLORADO SPRINGS. The Guadalupano Institute for Adult Formation (I.G.F.A.  is its acronym in Spanish) is the diocesan program in charge of the faith formation for adults in Spanish. It was created and managed by the Office of Hispanic Ministry.

This formation program includes two years of classes that cover different theological areas and workshops where practical tools on leadership are provided. The classes are taught mostly by our priests who are in parishes with Hispanic Ministry.

On July 13, 38 people graduated from the IGFA and were certified by Bishop James Golka as “Agents for the New Evangelization.” To date, 54 people have graduated from the institute in two different cohorts.

Now these graduates will be participating in different ministries in their respective parishes.

The Office of Hispanic Ministry thanks Bishop Golka for his support to this important faith formation program for the Hispanic parishioners.

The launch of the next cohort will be announced in The Colorado Catholic Herald

(Javier Cervantes is Director of Hispanic Ministry for the Diocese of Colorado Springs.)
