Revival Resolutions

By Tim Prudhomme

Editor’s Note: Following the National Eucharistic Congress that took place in July in Indianapolis, the third year of the National Eucharistic Revival — the Year of Mission — began. Several people from the Diocese of Colorado Springs spoke to the Herald about how they planned to live out their resolutions from the congress, and their testimonies will be featured periodically until the revival ends in June 2025. The first of these testimonies comes from Corpus Christi parishioner Tim Prudhomme:

My resolution from the congress is to take that Eucharistic (thankful) message out to the whole United States and world, beginning in Colorado Springs, following three steps given to me through the insight of the Holy Spirit:
• Trust in God.  A powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit in the Empower Impact Session showed me where I still try to retain control and lack that full trust. I need to “let Jesus take the wheel.”
• Take the next right step. My wife, Laura, and I joined the Junipero Serra pilgrimage for four miles. That pilgrimage experience taught me very tangibly to literally take the next right step by being open and vulnerable to God. In particular, I need to allow the itinerary to be just a guide, responding to the moment and the opportunities that God provides to do that next right thing.
• Be a sign of hope. The attractiveness experienced at the congress needs to be taken out to the world so that, in difficult moments, those I encounter will think of, and maybe call out to, Jesus. By my witness and words, I need to gift them with that thought or saying or item of hope.
